And there is a hand grab area inside the trunk which lets you close the trunk without touching the paint. You need to turn your hand upside down and pull it towards you.

I had my car a couple of months before I figured this one out:
When cancelling blinker, push in the same direction as you did to set the blinker, as if you were using the lane-change feature. Maybe that's in the FM, but to me this makes it easier to cancel than hunting for the click in the opposite direction. My .02c
2008 535i Space Grey, comfort access, Multi-contour seats, heated front seats, PP, shades, NAV, Sirius,

That's a great one! I'll try that one tomorrow on the way to work! I know I've been confusing the hell out of other drivers trying to cancel by pushing the lever in the opposite direction.

It took me a while to figure this one out when I just got my car. I was too busy going left then right then back to left again that I knew something wasnt right.
Looking back it does seem daft, although funny.

If you have one of the older "key" based BMWs, you can simply insert your key into the driver's door and turn and hold to the lock position. That will automatically close all the windows including the sunroof.
whoops, didn't realise this thread had grown so long so quickly.... above mentioned already a couple of times....
