I printed that PDF and dropped it off at my dealer today. My car does not have the 6UA option either. I am waiting to hear back from them if they can do the retrofit on my E60.

On my Vehicle History Report, my Vehicle Options show '0697 DVD Area coding, North America'. Does this have anything to do with being Nav upgradeable?

I am prob all late...but I just bought my car last week. I have the 6UA option and I contacted a dealer and this is the response I got.

OKay here goes!
There are only 2 kits left in the United States: both are in cali - Kit $2785.00 Cover $ 38.15 Nav DVD $199 Labor to install $935.00

They tell me we have to order it ASASP as they do not make these kits anymore Hope this helps!

It might not be BS because that's what your dealer might see on part locator throughout US. If it's not available, part guy will look it up on Germany part locator. If not available either in Germany or US, he has to special order and it'll take about a month to get it to you.
The part will never run out unless BMW stop support and grant warranty on CCC completely which never happens on this planet earth.
If you already have 6UA, all you need is CCC unit, 8.8" display, CCC LVDS cables, and center woodtrim for CCC car. Assumming that you already have iDrive menu button with voice button next to it. Hardware and software installation is 2.5 hours totally. My dealer quoted my that when I had my old E60 530i w/o nav.
The problem is you cannot buy CCC or 8.8" screen alone. Core exchange is needed and it runs around $500 each core.. Retrofit kit does not need CCC core, but needs your old MAS-K and 6.5" screen.
Hope it shines you some lights.

The prices quoted are about right (MSRP) from dealer. I cannot speak for the labor though. As my530i mentioned BMW will never run out of those parts. To save some $$ you can search eBay for all the parts but I would get new CCC from the dealer.

Print this PDF and take it to your Dealer.. It has all PaRT numbers and how to RETROFIT ... You can tell them the SB # located on this doc, they can pull it up on their System.
