This is obviously not the norm. Either your mechanic is inept, or you have extreme bad luck. Lol

My car had extremely rough idle on cold starts as well as oil and anti freeze leaks.
My issues were as follows...

Coolant Leak issues:
1-Leaky reservoir
2-leaky Radiator
3-Some hoses were causing a leak
4-water pump
5-Thermostat
All new now, cost is $1,400

Oil leak:
Upper gasket replacement

Total cost $150

Rough idle on extreme cold starts:
Intake manifold gasket leak (after smoke test)
cost to replace manifold $390

Not so bad after 200,000 km

If engine is well maintained, you will never have to replace it.
i think your mechanic may be inept.

565 hp. How's it handle compared to the 545! Does it have ARS! DSC. or DTC. HATE to say it but isn't it a straight line machine. Do like Rousch stuff. Is Jack Rouschs name on the Stang like 12-18 different places!

Why did you have to replace the intake manifold? Couldn't you have just replaced the gaskets to fix the leak?

The mechanics were worried that they would break the manifold when they try to remove the gasket.
They will let me know what direction they took on Monday.

Today was probably my 5th time disconnecting the intake manifold. I replaced the intake manifold and throttle body with brand new gaskets again (used gaskets are about two months old). Because I took it apart too often, I stripped the threads where the bolts go to. Thus, I also put two helicoil inserts on those stripped threads and they are now better than new!

The moral of the story: Make sure you torque the bolts and nuts properly when you put back the intake manifold!!! Try to do it right the first time. ;-)

OP, sorry for jacking your threat! Nice new car!
