MPG figures 530d 2004
#31
I don't have the dpf (2003/4 model), running a K&N filter and remapped to about 250hp.
I am doing 6.8l/100 according to the computer but it's 7.5l/100km when i manually calculate it at the pump...

Hi all
I've been monitoring my MPG and combined i get between 29 and 32. Cruise control set at 80 i get anything up to 38, but usually a bit less than that. Round town i dont get over 22, but i cant help putting my foot down for a quick feel of the torque!
BTW, mines a standard 2005 535d.
You should run my Skyline GTR for a day. I put £30 at 134.9 p/l in it and it got me approx 100 miles! Although you try driving one sensible!!! The thing just eggs you on all the time!
Cant do the maths, but how many gallons did i put in it? Roughly 6?

Thanks
How can you remove these? I had mine changed last year under warranty as it clogged when the glow plugs did not work, surely this affects emissions and removing it would stop the car passing its MOT in the UK? Does the US not have a yearly inspection?

Mines a 2003 E60 530d best I've managed on a "AutoBahn" is indicated 48.7 UK MPG average 75.5MPH over 200miles. Mine is deflapped + EGR deleted which makes a big difference.
Average MPG mixed driving in the summer 34MPG. Winter driving mixed driving average 30MPG. Town approx 26 MPG, can get as low as 19 MPG with very heavy foot.

My Ride: 2004 530d SE,manual,beige Dakota leather,light wood trim,jet black.(alot will be changed)
one reason mines gets so good mpg is because it never came with a dpf from the factory as it's a 2004 530d.
de-flapped a month ago and the mpg dropped to 37 for a few days before rising to 51mpg, be aware that our European gallons are bigger than your american gallons so it might sound high for you guys who have auto's and dpf's.
also the 530d is often more economical that the 4cyl 520d as that engine is too small and under powered for the car so you have to put your foot down on the accelerator pedal and rev it out alot more to get anywhere.
iv'e done the calculations and the computer is over reading by about 2 mpg.
mines is really going about 49 mpg average now.
ive never changed the thermostats and it is still running at 89 degrees
mines also has 184 thousand miles.
