2004 530d

Hi,

Sorry to go over old stuff but I just wanted to compare my MPG figures to others

Motorway at 75MPH: 40MPG

Town/Dual carriageway: 27MPG

Town: 24MPG

Many thanks

P.s. and maybe a few tips on how to improve it

Wait... you want to improve 40, 27 and 24mpg ??

There are a million threads about this already but I would say you are doing pretty damn good.

holy flak jack, my 2004 530d manual gets 47.7mpg all the time, if i drive hard i can get it down to 40 or drive like a granny i can get it up to 51mpg

yours must be auto to be getting that low.

this includes town and motorway driving.

Yep, it's an auto. I must admit, I do get a little frustrated sometimes as it seems to rev unnecessarily.

OBC is stating about 35mpg when i really try to keep it down. Drops to 30 when i am pushing it a bit.

this just shows the difference in running cost with manual vs auto.

I really don't believe you are getting 47mpg.. It must be a readout error because it is WAY below factory spec. If your driving only highways, 40mpg is the best you'll get.

Here, this might help:

I have an auto with 120,000 on the clock. Just completed lots of work on it and wanted to compare it to others. Seems 40mpg on the motorway is pretty good. My previous car was an RX8 and the fuel consumption was really bad. I much pefer my e60
