My Ride: Space Gray 545i
Hey, everyone.
Looking for some insight as to what may be wrong with my SMG Transmission and what I should do.
2004 545i 101k miles on the car.
I believe my SMG transmission is going/slipping.
Few of the issues that I've been seeing:
From a dead stop, when trying to accelerate, the car has difficulty moving. The rpm goes up but the car doesn't move. More recently, hard jerks when it actually does engage and gets rolling. Prior to this happening, I was noticing that when I try to accelerate hard, the rpm would go up to about 4k, dip back down to about 3k as if it was losing power, before it would continue to climb.
Has anyone experienced this? Is it the clutch? The transmission itself? Or maybe the SMG pump? Pretty bummed right now, but trying to figure out what this might be and what the associated cost will be.
