I am yet to find somebody who can tell whether they are listening to an MP3 or CD of the same track when fed through the same system from a _good quality_ MP3 source or CD player (ie, don't compare a ?2000 CD player to a ?300 PC outputting through a ?5 sound card...!)

Burn them on a dvd and play them in the NAV dvd player. You can get hundreds on there. That is why you have the option to select DVD from the entertainment area.

Well let's put it this way. I play CD's in there that I have burned. I haven't gotten around to actually burning a DVD yet. The CD's that I burn work in there.

I now have goal to try. I have plenty of DVD's to try.
1. I will try DVD with regular uncompressed music.
2. I will try a DVD loaded with mp3's.
Wish me luck.
Peace.
Will post results tonight.

Well here I am.? I would seriously question your requirement for a "very expensive" hi-fi if you are having trouble differentiating between the two sources.

RussellFray, I will come to the defense of browellm based on his history in the forum. He has always been a straight up guy.
I also can attest to the fact that a true audiophile system would be wasted on my ears. However, both my son and my daughter can hear things in recordings that totally escape my ears. I believe they might be able to tell the difference between WAV and MP3, but I can't. I appreciate music as much as most, but to buy an expensive sound system would be a waste for me.
It seems logical to me that to compress a file as MP3 does, you have to lose something just as you lose quality with JPEG pic format.

mp3 disc had no luck.
Created audio DVD and no luck as well.
I hoped for a lucky break and all I got was a shadowed out DVD for both.
Oh well

This brings up a question then. Why is it that I can burn a cd (not mp3) and it works just fine in my dvd player, but kigerka states that burning them on a dvd and playing it does not work (not mp3)
. I will have to try this myself. kigerka, could you try playing a cd that you have burned (not mp3) in your dvd player and see if THAT works. If that doesn't work then your dvd player is different then mine because like I have said it works for me on Maxell CD's burned with either Nero or WMP.
