Why do you lose the dash slot, I've a changer and a dash slot and am led to believe when the software update comes, the dash slot will play mp3's and cd audio, the changer just cd audio (and the other dash slot plays nav discs and dvd's)
Am I missing something??

I always question the MP3 soundquality.. I even hear a difference between the hybrid SACD's I play in my car and normal CD's!
JDN, I think with MP3 your coffeemugs will need an upgrade to a larger size

seriously, mp3 quality is noticeably poorer than original cd quality even in the car...it would be nice to have both, also the changer is a cheap option in the uk.

Quality issue 'specially pertinent if most of the selections are Morpheus downloads as mine are. OTOH, a true audiophile would not consider a moving vehicle the ideal sound chamber.

In our other car, an Audi, I have a Bose stereo with a nav system which plays MP3's from SD/MMC cards, and CD's from a changer. Again there is no difference in quality between them.
Now I know people can have long arguments about the coding, compression etc - but when it comes down to it if it _sounds_ good then who cares about the technical specifications. I am yet to find somebody who can tell whether they are listening to an MP3 or CD of the same track when fed through the same system from a _good quality_ MP3 source or CD player (ie, don't compare a ?2000 CD player to a ?300 PC outputting through a ?5 sound card...!)

I guess that's an option, but I use NAV a lot plus I don't have a DVD burner. I didn't realize NAV had a DVD option other than the NAV DVD. Thanks. Will check it out.
