Well as long as your car is still in warranty then it wont cost you anything, as the service bulletin clearly states this is to be cover under warranty. As a matter of fact my dealership gave me a free loaner as well.

so if I have a 2004 530i with no navi I can't get mp3 to work on my car is that right?

Look at post #30, that should clarify things for you all. If its too expensive for you to get the Ipod adapter, you can always get an auxillary input.
(I'm pretty sure I've never seen a "flat" aux cable before or that would solve my issue for sure!)
