So, I lost my temper because the right cup holder would not stay locked. Slammed it a couple of times. Pay back was taking the holder out of the dash and re-assembling the latch. Let's be careful out there

They work fine for me. I'm even able to fit my trenta coffees when really some caffeine.

3 E60s and i don't think they are so bad. I like them better than big 'ol holes in the center console

I am interested in getting better cup holder. My passenger side cup holder does not lock in..

they could stand to be a bit bigger but the real issue the design of their location in the cabin... the passenger cup holder is ass far away and the driver's encroaches ont he passenger's space. BMW just didn't make good use of the cabin space IMO.

I suspect the Germans don't value cup holders as much as people do in the US, especially for holding things like huge Big Gulps. . . after spending years in an E39 I don't notice the cup holder thing much anymore. I also don't eat in my car. . .

The e60 cupholders are very bad, just not as bad as the e39 (where literally everything I put in there would tip over).

Im pretty sure they have a competition in the BMW offices in Germany to create the must infuriating cupholders & the worst entry wins. That or they are trying to take a shot at us fat americans & our drinking habits.
