Mine looks consistent throught out. Have you tried to inspected another one at your dealership? If your car does not look comparable, then you can have hard evidence for your arguments with the dealer.

Calling all people with black interiors:

Please join me in screaming about the mismatched black, or tell me I have a bad job done in mine!

The black on the front leather seats is darker than the black of the rear bench seat. The dash looks faded to a burgundy color. The part that hits the knees is spotchy and lighter still. The armrest is darker than the sides of the armrest. The plastic around the heat controls matches the part where the window controls are, and is the darkest of all. Looking around my cabin, I see 5 or 6 different blacks- some reddish, some brownish, some grayish. I am fed up and need anyone else out there to let me know I am not the only one!

Or tell me I have a bad interior job. My dealer actually had the nerve to say, "Well, when you turn your head this way, squint, and look into the grain, it kind of matches. So we can't help you." COME ON!
I think you 'have a bad job done' in yours. I have black with black dakota leather and... it's all pretty much the same black.

Not a problem here either.

My seats are custom made with Porsche Nappa Leather with White Stiches.

Bad pic but...

Well, I guess I have a warrantee issue. I will see them next week- they've made an appointment with a BMW field service representative, whom I noticed briefly at my last visit: he looks like a mad scientist in a long, grey, BMW labcoat. Supposedly he's a genius who car build the cars from parts, down to the last nut and bolt.

As for the damaging effects of the sun: I have 15% tint, which is basically black. It's cermaic film- very little harmful or fading rays enter my car. Plus, I am garaged both at home and work.

As for products: only BMW products have been used.

I'll let you know how it goes. I am not optimistic, however. If they no-go me, I have a contact at BMWNA and I will try to escalate the issue. My car is beatiful, but this interior thing really bugs me. I'll take some pics for you tomorrow- I hope you see what I see. If not, I'll take myself to a shrink instead of my car to the dealership.

I've noticed that Bmw leather is not well dyed.

Yes! I have several issues (just ask my loving wife) but the black on the leather looks like the dye is spoltchy. And that's on a seat that's not sat in! And it applies to the leather on the door panels, too. Grrrrr, not happy.

Black BMW leather is not really black. If you take a black marker and compare it with the black leather, you will see that the black leather is like a "light" black leather and not a "deep black leather.
