Hey guys,
I can't get my trunk to open with the following methods:
1. Remote control
2. Trunk button by the driver door
3. Manually inserting the key in the keyhole of the trunk. Why is that not possible!!!???
I really don't want to cut a big hole behind the armrest to remove the whole back rest cushion to fix the problem. Can someone give me a better idea, please?
Thank you,
Daniel

that keyhole on your trunk doesn't actually OPEN the trunk like many other cars. It is for locking or unlocking the trunk ONLY. The little grab handle that is tucked away just above your license plate is what actually opens your trunk (as long as the car is unlocked)
You can also try the trunk release button in front of your shifter, to the left of your pull-out ashtray. I don't know why but there are like 4 ways to open my trunk.

Thank you for your help, J.
I did managed to open the trunk by inserting the key into the "trunk keyhole". If you turn it all the way to the left, the trunk lid will automatically pop open. It's a hit and miss method!
Because the electrical wires to the lock actuator tend to deteriorate, I also did the following:
1. Drilled a small hole behind the armrest.
2. Slipped a 3.5' X 3/8" braided security "cable" into the hole and tied one end of it to the "Emergency Release Handle inside the trunk".
Now I have an extended "Emergency Trunk Release Handle" behind my rear seat armrest! :-)
In any case, I think I have this problem:

The first thing you'll need to do when such weird situation has happened is call a Locksmith who deal with this specific situation. A regular locksmith may be able to get into your car, and unlock your car.

I had the misfortune of locking the car using the remote with somebody inside. The door lock/unlock button was disabled and not work. The only way to unlock the car was using the remote.I called Locksmith and got new key from them.

A cut master key can be made with just your VIN number, you can even get it online saving some money. However, the key that is shipped won't be programmed so it will not be able to start your car .The dealer will say you need to replace the entire engine lock system, although perhaps a local Locksmith will be able to give you some other options by reprogamming the ECU or some other approved tricks.
