Are these specs actually written on the bulb though? I've recently noticed there's a colour difference between my left and right xenon bulbs, and was wondering if I would be able to find out the colour temperatures by reading the label on the bulbs (it's an effort to remove because you have to remove the whole headlight assembly, so I thought I'd try and find out here first, before diving in...)

You can find the specs or spreadsheets on the manufacturers site.

If you plan to replace a bulb, do the two bulbs (L+R) at the same time, otherwise there will always be a diference in color.

Regarding price:

I called a dealership service center and they quoted around $250 for 1 bulb.

I found some on the web for $55 which are identical.?.? http://www.oembulbs.com/osram-xenarc-66040-d2s.html

Although, the headlight comes on for about 30 seconds and then turns off. The service center advised to switch the bulb with the working bulb to ensure its a bulb burnout problem. It could be that the ignition module is causing the issue.

Switch the working bulb with none working to rule out "ignition module" malfunction. Then as suggested, replace both bulbs so the life cycle as well as color temperature match!

Agreed. But do you think the website bulbs are the same? Why is the BMW service center charging $200+ per bulb?

They did not state anything about installation.
This was just for the bulb as I understand it
