[quote name='Pkorkis' date='May 20 2005, 04:59 PM']Yeah I test drove the '06 530 a week before.? Drive difference...I remember the 530 being a little lighter on the wheel compared the tight 545 steering.? Acceleration, oh man, 545 is a lot quicker and sounds a lot better, 545 pulls your gut into the seat, 530 doesn't really do that.? Although the 530 is pretty quick, the 545 gets your gut spinning.? The 545 has this deep sound from the engine/exhaust everytime you start pushing it, the 530 didn't really have that.? They're both great cars, but the 545 is just a world of difference when you step on it.

So the new I6 (R6 engine) still doesnt compare to a good ol' V8 I see...

We'll see... No one has provided any quantitative performance data yet with a manual or SMG.

I had the same experience-- walked in to order a 530i and walked out with a 545-- the lease deals are fantastic. Congratulations-- you made a good decision.

Great car!

I'd second the red rear reflectors. Looks much better on the 545i. Enjoy the car!

Kicks it all up to the rear fender? hahah you gotta wipe it back down after applying it so its not like soaking the tire.

So my father, two brothers and I met @ Irvine BMW to return my '02 330Ci, and hopefully get an '06 530i.? Well we get there, talk to a salesman, and he tells us approx. $780 a month for a fully loaded.? That wasn't going to happen, so then he starts talking to us about an '05 530i, and we weren't very interested b/c I really liked the new engine they put in, don't get me wrong, the '05's are still awesome, but its tough when you see the new '06 engine right there.? So my brother says, what about an '05 545i...ends up being for a 545i w/ sport package being $730 a month, and $790 fully loaded!?!?!? We take out the 545i for a drive, and its settled...so we went in hoping I could get a '06 530i, and ended up driving out w/ a Silver w/ Gray leather & Sport package '05 545i!? The car is amazing, and I can't stop driving it.? I'm happy to be part of this forum now after being part of E46fanatics for so long.? Sorry for the length, but thought you guys might like the story...

'05 545i Silver
Gray Leather
Sport Package
Auto. (i know...the guy screwed up on the residual so we were kinda getting an on the spot good deal)
