So i just replaced my front rotors and pads (Friday)
Rotors are Centric cross drilled/slotted and pads are Axxis Ultimate.

I bed the brakes friday night and now i don't get that initial "bite or grab" that i used to get with my OEM pads w/regular rotors. I also feel that the pedal is a bit longer, so now i'm not sure how to get back that braking/stopping power.
I'm not sure if my mechanic bled the brakes, i will ask him, other than that, any other suggestions?

Did he flush the brake fluid completely? it seems there is some air inside.. You need to bring it to him again and ask what kind for flush tool he used.

try bedding another round. i had to do this bedding sequence twice with a few miles before i started feeling the difference. it'll come around, i think with more miles of wear on the pads and rotors should soon fix it. hope this helps max

give it a few days...softer brakes initially would be expected....commonly reported with the axxis pads

They are great pads. My wheels get virtually no dust on them. But as far as the claims for braking power, it is definitely a noticible decline over OEM brakes. They don't have the initial "umph" that the OEM brakepads have, and you have to ease into the brakes rather than expect to stop on a dime. As far as stopping power is concerned, they are ok for every day driving, but for those who want to track their cars, or drive more spirited, these don't cut it. No dust is great though.

Hey Ken,

Thanks for the review! I certainly agree with you about not using the brake pads for track purposes. They were never intended for that, these are designed for street drivers who want them for day-to-day driving, which is about 95% of BMW drivers.
OEM=more dust, faster wear, grip well.
After market= less dust, longer wear, reduced grip.

You pay to play .

hmmm,...i've heard that about the axxis deluxe, but i've never heard of the axxis ultimate having stopping power issues - i'm not so concerned with dust, i want the grip, that's why i went with ultimates. I'll give it a few more days and hope things will turn around

I have the Axxis Deluxe Advanced and they do not bite like OEM pads, but stop the car just as well after being broken in. Did you by chance bed the new pads in properly? If the rotors are not a slightly discolored bluish tint after bedding them in, you may not have gotten them hot enough to out-gass the pads and put a good layer of material onto the rotors.
