The 550 has the same problem...
Some of the forum members are acting as they have the best car in the world. Come on guys. E 60 is a great car but it breaks down a bit to often and it is the fact. I have 545 and I love it. it broke down 2 weeks ago pretty badly. It is still at the dealer. I love the car but dealing with major mechanical brakedown with proper maintenance at 54K miles is a mistake. At least BMW does something to fix and improove their cars. I also own 08 GTI with DSG dual clutch tranny. It is the second one cause I also owned 07. Bought them both brand new. The first one had problems with tranny so is my second one. 07 had a problems with radiator fan, same with the 08. I am sick and tired of VW. BMW may not be the best but at least they change and improve cars. VW on the opposite does nothing IMO. I like driving both cars, but are they really that great? I don't think so. They all have problems. All we can do is to deal with them.

Yep, that's right.
But I am not willing to deal with major problems that cost as much as some new chinese cars over here.
BMW really fucked it up big time, knows about, and is not doing anything to solve the issues.

so check this out, i'm heading home from work today and there is this sound that goes "bling" and i look at the dash and it's the service engine light. is the service engine light the same thing as the check engine light? 75 miles on this thing since i've owned it... maybe it's something minor (i hope).

i have no warranty. last night i posted that i was going to get an extended warranty and was looking for a good company, then tonight this... it's kinda funny in a really shitty way - like if it happened to someone else and not me, i'd laugh. lol
