jumping wiper blade

My Ride: 2008 535i, platinum gray with cream beige dakota leather, premium, sport, comfort access, navigation, heated seats, sport auto with paddles, premium sound, sat radio, ipod
My new 08 535 has this chatter problem real bad. Driver's side is terribly noisy going both ways and it's downright embarrassing. Dealer says they can't duplicate, so I am going to try this fix myself.
Question, where along the arm do you apply the spanner and twist? I would assume closer to the blade?
Perhaps I should just demand that the dealer order me in a replacement arm?

yes I am also confused about where and how to apply the spanner application.
I do have a chatter on the downstroke - the BMW mech did bend the wiper but it was more of a 'horizontal' bend along the length of the wiper instead of a twist, as a result the chatter seems to have got worse

Perfect diagnosis and exact remedy - whether a new BMW or an old Ford this situation/problem has been around since they put windscreens/windshields on cars.

I don't know if RainX has been improved in the past 5+ years but when I had rainX applied to my windshield I always got this build up occuring on the windhiseld which caused my wipers to jump and stick..
Since then I have never applied RainX on my cars.

Who applied it? I have been using Rain-X for years and never had that problem. You might want to have whoever applied it RTFM

Well, I don't exactly have any chatter until I got smart one day and spend some money changing out the old wipers. While putting them on, I found it difficult and spent 20 minutes instead of the usual 5. After that the chatter began. I thought it could be the washer fluid addictive that I added recently but now coming to think of it, it could be I myself bending the wiper arms when changing out the blades... I will update if that is the case. very soon. tomorrow morning. Its 12am MN here.
