What got me was that the dealer specifically mentioned E60s as being unreliable and that several people had traded in one in that were fed up with their car after less that one year! And I had heard a similar rundown from the Infiniti dealer 2 weeks ago.

I did all my research before and KBB is ~ $41,000, which is still 25,000 less that the MSRP after less than 2 years!

My Ride: 530i 6 speed
![Default](https://5series.net/forums/images/icons/icon1.gif)
So, I had my meeting with the BMW rep today.
Of course, the SMG was almost fine on the short drive with him.
Anyway, some issues he acknowledged, some he told me are just "normal". I still disagree.
They kept the car for yet another software update and I have a loaner now (2006 530xi, this car has an incredible amout of creaks, much worse than mine. The front windshield sounds like an old ship).
I have decided to trade my car in (they offered me a decent deal) and to order a 6 speed manual 330i tomorrow. Its time for me to move on.
I dove the 330i and liked it a lot. The front room is basically equivalent to th E60. Am I making a mistake?

330... its alright... I think you're making a better choice than going to Infinit... so I wish you the VERY best! Stay on the board tho... dont leave us. we welcome E90s...

330 is awesome! ...drove it on the autobahn...it's also VERY responsive on mountain roads. Infiniti may look/feel more luxurious...but can't beat the feel of the bimmer. But good luck whatever decision you make.

After so many problems you have confronted with your 545i, I think you just want a peace-of-mind kind of car, then Lexus/Infiniti/Acura are the only ones to go......I suggest Lexus GS300.

It's only when the faithful start to leave that BMW will get their act together.
