They had to re-program the DME (two failed attempts before replacing the CCC ), and one more time after everything was replaced.
Service guy indicated that they put in the CIP that they got last Thursday. He wasn't sure of the number, but he thinks it was 20.1.01.
All is fine so far. I re-paired my Bluetooth phone, and everything else works fine. It was interesting that my phone pairing was still listed in the car settings. Equalizer settings were gone. Hmmmm.
Lastly - I didn't read my "invoice" before I left. There is an entry that says:
"1 65-83-6-941-401 REPLACEM. CD"
Anyone know what that is? The service manager mentioned something about having to replace the CCC and the "Radio Center"? Did I get a new CD & DVD drive (I have Nav)?

I think CCC is Communications (or Central?) Control Computer or something similar in German. That pretty well describes what it does in any case. It handles all the iDrive functionality and interfaces to the other processors in the car. They can all run fine without it, but you can't adjust anything and you have no Nav, Audio, BT phone, etc. when it fails.

I got my CCC replaced yesterday at Brecht. It was all done in a day, even with the car getting completely re-programmed. RDS also works now and I suspect MP3 support will be there too! The only problem was that they replaced the DVD and didn't remove the NAV disc first. So, I had to go back and get it. All-in-all just a minor problem with some nice benefits from the S/W upgrade offsetting things a bit. I hope this CCC lasts.

I think so, but I can't tell for sure what version they installed since the paperwork they provide doesn't show it. I suppose I could ask. MP3 CD support doesn't work, I just tried one. I read elsewhere it had to be specifically enabled and I didn't ask them to, so they probably didn't. I have an 09/05 build. Maybe next oil change...
