Default Idle issue

Hey everyone,

I just do not know what to do at this stage. The issue that I have that when I drive my ABS light comes on, once I stop for couple minutes the light goes off. But also the engine light comes on saying idle control valve stuck. The thing is that I have change three valves in three months, also have changed throttle, fuel valve vent, pcv system oil sperator. MAF and pipes are all good, spark plugs are new basically everything in car is new invested large sum and stillcannot find issue. Mechanics are lost and do not know what it could be cause everything is changed. The car is E60 520i 2004 AUTO. 200000 km. The only thing I belive could make this headache is baromertic sensor inside DME, but I am not 100% sure.
whe you drive car I have a feeling that engine does not havd enough power.

If anyone has any ideas your welcome or if you came across that please help..

Have you tried to clean the ICV? Is it plugged in from previous removal?

Have you did any brake work on the car lately.

I would clean it to see if you can get it to open normally. Check your ABS sensor you might have an issue there. Have you used INPA to see what the error message is really telling you?

The ICV is brand new its 3rd one from shop. I read somewhere that when car goes to limp mode ABS goes on not sure if it is true but I do not mind abs issue the one that worries me is that ICV error code comes up even thou everything is done not sure why. Feels like car does not have enoguh air once you take motor cap off its works perfectly

Ok I understand. Your code never goes away. If you are using INPA you can pull up every error message that the car has had unless it has been erased by the program. Is your mechanic using BMW software or a third party OBDII reader. If they are using INPA have them check the error messages im sure there are some. The cars computer logs error codes and messages in two different containers. I know this because I do all the work on my cars and once my MIL lights up the messages are there until I delete them. The car logs everything.

If your car goes into limp mode the ABS light does not come on. At least for the 1000 times mine has went in to limp mode (05 530i).

It seems you have a problem some where. If you have changed the ICV multiple times then it could just be a software issue. Have you tried updating it.

Let us know what you have cam up with.

Have you checked the battery voltage. If the alternator is failing it can output too high a voltage which upsets all sorts of modules, especially the ABS.

I have recently went to mechanics and they checked it though computer, INPA not OBD2 the trick is that all errors related to engine do not save not sure why. When you switch on car hit acceleration the engine light comes on but when you switch it off and connect computer there are no error MAGIC Also I contacted BWM dealer to ask about update my DME they said its 50%/50% they can update it but car my be not suitable for updates and DME is gonna die meaning that they are not responsible for it. They take no responsibility if DME dies. My battery voltage is good, recetly had IBS issue but changed sensor and it is all good not regards battery. My next step is to find out is it possible to change Barometric pressure sensor and if it is then change it if not then wait for couple of months and change DME. No more ideas once I will fix it I will keep you updated. This issue is a killer
