Opening the trunk with the fob is an acquired art. I set off the alarm in the dealer's showroom during delivery! I wonder how many times that has happened before!?!

You will get the hang of it with a few more repititions...

For setting the radio stations, I just use the AutoScan feature...

My Ride: 2004 545i / Orient Blue (I think) / Tan int / 116's Wheels / ... my favorite option, the HEATED steering wheel! Previous cars retired: 2006 Corvette Z51, 2002 Corvette Coupe, 2002 Mustang, 1997 Maxima, 1994 Camry, 1990 Supra None, and I mean none compare to this 545i. The 06 Corvette was faster, but not by much...

Thanks for all the welcomes and the tips for using my car.

I'm enjoying driving it, but due to rainy weather, I haven't had the opportunity to really test it out. I find that I'm driving very conservatively, shifting around 3k RPM...

I'm still getting used to the car and finding quirks with it.

I do not like the fact that I can't close the moonroof after I take out the key. I am finally able to open the trunk with both key fobs with out setting off the alarm.

I set the extra steering wheel button to change input source on the Radio and CD. If I have a CD in both the single player and the changer, I find that I can not toggle between either CD with this button. It defaults to the last CD source. Is this normal?

My countdown service counter is now at 800. I checked the iDrive and looked to see what needed attention. Everything seemed ok, with servicing needed at 13k miles or more. What the hell needs servicing? Is my car confused?

Going to check out tint shops this weekend.

Will post pictures after I clean my car.

Chris

Yes, that's the way it works. It will only switch between AM, FM and CD (last used). For the other programmable button, I have it set to mute the audio. Thus this button works as a remote on/off for the audio system...
