Last night it rained at my house, almost like a down pour. The bad thing is was that my windows were cracked. The inside of my car is wet. I came outside this morning and there was water all over the seats in my car. I dried them with water and turned the car on to see if everything was alright. The passeneger seat airbag thingy detected a fault. The light was on on the dashboard but the overhead light was off. Now that things have dried out, it seems like the airbag system is working turned the key with me sitting in the seat and not sitting in the seat) by looking at the overhead indicator lights, however the system still reads a fault. has anyoen ever experienced this?
Sorry, hope you get everything sorted out soon.

I did this a few months ago. My neighbor did this too with a brand new lexus SUV. Mold grew in the wet carpets and he never got the smell out. A disaster recovery company said there was nothing he could do but replace all of the carpets and underlay in the car. He ended up trading in the car after a short time as the smell was terrible.
On his advice I got myself over to Home Depot and got a product called "Concrobium". It kills mold as it dries. After drying the carpets to the best of my abilities, I sprayed it all over the carpets of my 330i and then locked the car in a heated garage (with the heat on high) and let it all dry for 2 days. It left no marks on the black carpet. Afterwards, I conditioned the leather a few times with a Meguiars product.
No smell whatsoever after 3 months and the leather looks brand new. You've got to kill any potential mold before it has the chance to grow in your carpets. I really recommend you attend to this ASAP.
It won't take long and it eliminates a significant risk.

Left my windows down one night, got lucky. I live in South Florida where it rains almost every day in the summer.
That makes me more lucky that nobody stole my ride, than I got rained on.
