Has any tried one of those Universal Car remotes to see if they can program the Boot opening code of our keys?
I heard this isn't possible if the BMWs use code hopping; but that's only for the doors right?

In trhe US, the button is standard. Not so in the rest of the world. Pretty amazing, huh?
Its standard here in Asia...atleast Pakistan. Just press the button and the trunk opens. No need to take the key out of the ignition or switch off the engine.

Yes, the E60 is a piece of shit, when the older models don't have a trunk opener inside the car.
Give the car to someone for free and get something else, like a Ford Mondeo!

Weird... some cars don't even have a trunk release on the inside and I have two. One by the hood release (foot well) and another on the center console, above the passenger side seat heat button.
Speaking of which, I wonder if its possible to exchange that second button for umm... i don't know, a button for ventilated seats? its a one button for one button exchange. Seems fair to me.

This is an weird LCI decision to have two buttons to do exactly the same thing. And there another department in BMW was creating the iDrive to get rid of all the buttons in the car!
