in general thats true but in my case, I have never been able to trigger the abs to come on even when I braked very hard so it will be brakes before tyres for me.

tyres are 1 of the most importent thing on the car after all the car is only touching the road with 4 wheels in the end.

for now definitely some help on the brake pads would be appreciated. further down the line, would probably need some advice on shedding some weight off the car. think about it, reducing weight is a good way to bring speed and greener on the environement too.

Anyway, if you ever need any advice on modding your car, I (or anyone else here) will be delighted to help.

Yes, I am using Brembo / Pagid pads for my brakes. No, I have not tried others since they are still in 90%.

Good luck

OEM brakes are good enough unless you are driving 150km/h on a steep mountain road which requires continously braking,
If you driving alone with Merc or lexus at 100km/h and put your foot down on the brake together, BMW will mostly win the battle
The key is people love their car so much and don't dare to put their foot down to the bottom
(Just my opinion)
that right not many ppl put there foot down on the brakes only the gas
the BMW OEM brakes are much too soft. There no need to do 150km to find out if they are good or not, just do 60km down hill at TMS a few times and the oem will burn out in no time.
you should try out kcleung car and you kind why.
your 530 brakes are much bigger than his car.

o yeah wight is the key to a fast car.
Just look at all the mad car built in UK well under 1000kgs
Caterham, lotus

On my next car this is what I will do.
CF Bonnet
CF Boot
Exhaust
lighter wheels
lighter brakes pads and disk
only have half a tank of fuel
take out all the crap in the boot
change the seats to lighter sport leather seats

That's a lot money to spend... For the M3, i think i will only change the wheels and lower it. Brake on the M seems good enough so far, but will need to bring it to the TMS track for a test to really find out. I thought the 335 was alright, but after the run, truth is it needs to fine tune quite a bit here and there.

Another scary moment I had yesterday at TST when there were a few drops of rain, I was in the 335 w/ DCT on, went into this double lane merge exit, approx.2/3 throttle in 2nd gear(around 4 - 5k rpm), and the rear started to come around me, saved with some counter steering and a little gas. Lucky there were no car in the other lane as 1/3 of the car was on the other lane, or else i think i would definately hit him. Again, fun on track but scary on street....

Anyone can tell me when would AK be available in the next few days? i would like to bring the 335 for him to check a bit and hopefully do some fine tuning on it. the understeering is annoying me alot.

Cheers,
Mike
