Hi ac388
I think just a repaint is insufficient. If the wheel is scuffed, the scratched surface needs to be machined back to smoothness before repaint for a better finish. That's what I hear at least :-P

Talk to your service centre rep, he should be able to refer you to a third party wheel/tire shop where BMW owners trade their original wheels in for third party wheels. If you dont know anyone, you can talk to Brian Lai at the Chai Wai centre. Tell him you're friend of license plate GH625. He should take care of you :-)

Hi all!! I am a member also from Hong Kong. My family is planning to purchase a new 5 series and I want to ask if anyone of you know when Hong Kong will have the new 550i. Also, I want to ask if anyone in Hong Kong has added the SMG since the dealer told me that very very few people has decided to add this option, which I believe is about $60000 after tax. Thanks.

I am not sure whether the 550 will be available at the same time as the rest of the world. Firstly because the cars in Hong Kong are right handed drive, so some new models tend to be available later than the US and Europe (but not sure about engine changes). Secondly, I have asked two sales in Hong Kong and they both told me that they have not heard about this change. However, I do doubt their honesty since there is only one sole distributor for BMWs in Hong Kong, thus making it hard for us to bargain on the price and to get information regarding new cars.
