My Ride: 2005 BMW 525i
Default

Hi everyone I'm a new owner of 2005 March production E60 525i new engine, silver grey/grey with maple wood trim. Just standard HK spec, too many of same car in HK so I just can't wait to upgrade my car with bigger wheels and M aero kit. I've got the E60 accessories catolog from BMWHK and asked some prices for my interest.

1) M aero kit
HKD$29,000
with installation
2) Alloy wheels
71
HKD$6,140.00@ 18" rim only
128
HKD$5,301.00@ 19" rim only
135
HKD$6,031.00@ 18' rim only
184
HKD$6,031.00@ 18" rim only
3) M steering wheel and normal sport steering wheel sport
HKD$12,637.00 M- sport HKD$14,450.00

And all of them have to be taxed since my car is registered within 6 months.

Do you think these prices are expensive? I think the most craziest price is the steering wheel :'( . M-kit is reasonable though compared to wheels (although still expensive).

Please post your opinion and advise if there's any reliable shop in HK for BMW parts.

The steering wheel is so expensive because the airbag in your 530 steering wheel doesn't fit with the sport/M steering wheel.

Guys here mentioned an autoparts shop in Mongkok for bmw parts, I went there but couldn't find it. Can u guys post some directions to the shop? thx!

Hi Both

I think the best upgrade and most reasonably priced is the M-Aero Kit. I cant believe the steering wheel is SO expensive !!! For orginal BMW wheels, check with the service centre managers to see if there are nearly new second hands available from other BMW owners (who opted for after market wheels). I got mine from another forum member at a considerable discoount over new. Can't wait to see pics of your new 525i bene60 !!

Bunbun, I realised you installed the M-kit from BMW. Do you know if we can order it without the spoiler for a cheaper price as I don't like the spoiler.

You see my car very often, it's just standard silver grey 525i. That's why I want to at least change the wheels to make it more personalised.

Hi Bene60

Unfortunately, the kit has to come with the wing. U can ask them not to install it (like I did), but it wont affect the price. U can sell the wing for some $ but BMW won't sell it for u, u hv to do it aftermarket. I dont suggest getting the kit from a third party dealer as I was told they dont do a good paint matching job, which I believe. It's a little more expensive getting it done at BMW but I think it's well worth it.

Just curious how much more it is after tax, for example on wheel #128. Thanks.

Hi ac388

It's illegal in HK to instore TV/DVD at the front, but you can instore it at the back.

I think tax for the rim is 85% .

For the aero kit, I am also thinking ACS but if I order it I would only order the front lip and save the money for a better rim!

It is illegal here in Singapore too. However, BMW has gone around this regulation and installed the DVD/TV to function only when the car is not in motion.

Hey Guys!

I'd finally saw a real E60 M5 in Hong Kong! Well it's only a left hand drive, but it's amazing to see one of the first E60 M5 in Hong Kong...

Do you guys have any idea if the right hand drive E60 M5 arrived yet?
