Sorry to hear that...

For accident repair, I seldom go back to the dealer for repair! The reason is that, once you've took your car to BMW HK for repair, they'll have record. Meaning that, by the time you sell your car, your next owner is going to know your car had been in such an accident, and had that part repainted...

Well, there's always good and bad side for doing jobs outside dealer... For me, even I know people in the service department in BMW HK, I seldom go there for any jobs outside warranty coverage... (I think Bunbun wouldn't agree w/ me this time, right? )

hahaha....to be honest, you do have a good point there regarding the damage records. it's a catch 22, damned if you bring it to BMWHK (the dmg record on their computer), damned if u don't (possible poor workmenship and color mis-match)

Haha...actually I wanted to contribute but when I got to the Paypal page it stalled???? So AC S5, did u get your window decal after u contributed?

Regarding your car's damage, it is mostly on the bumper(s)?? if so, u can use that as an excuse to upgrade to M-tech or other third party aero kits

Btw, my wife STILL hasn't notice the Mtech aero....haha.? It's been almost 7 months now.

I like the rear bumper, is just the front that's need a new look that's why I am considering the Hamann front lip, nothing too outrageous coz still don't know what kind of wheels I will be getting. The M5 wheels mgmbh1 is selling is really attractive but I think they are too big for my car coz the largest our car can get is a 245 19" for front and 275 19" for the rear. Just get the damage repair first

Yeah, women know nothing about the car, they just don't get it and appreciate it.

The K&N should be a piece of cake, the air filter box is located in a good place on the E60 compare to E39, just be careful of things falling into the air duct while working and you should be fine.

To be honest I only trade in my cars to authorise dealer, I don't like water good cars although they have nice equipment, there are just too many dishonest people out there.

Dealers of course are just concern with big crash (so if you need to redo the structure then there's a concern) plus if they want your business they will certainly give you a good price for trade in. Only water goods salesman think that repaint is a big deal. The whole body of my previous E39 was repainted
and they don't even care when I trade in the car.

I really want to see your paint job in person but I couldn't make it 11/10. As said before I am interested in doing the M-kit with your shop and I will contact you after my trip next week. Thank you for your help in advance.

So many posts to catch up today......

Seems like everyone is getting the M-kit now, I need to save up and get one too. I was thinking about the ACS kit, but it is too expensive from BMW HK. Really need to check out gf366's paint job on Oct 11. Maybe I will go with his shop too.

Look gorgeous, marcus!! Yours look like the Sports now. Will you get the M5 mirror and the trunk finisher to complement the M-kit?

AC_S5, I am interested in getting the chrome grille too.

Hi guys, hi Marcus

Nice kit !! U even got the sport wheels to go with it, very cool. Oh for the record, I really hv nothing against outside garages hehe.... I'm just the skittish type always afraid the venture outside the dealership heh heh...

Btw, I had the air filter replaced la. I posted a step by step on the main board with pics, check it out la. I only took a very short drive around my home cuz I didn't have my license with me. To be honest, couldn't tell much difference at the moment, maybe I'll drive it harder tomorrow when I go to work and see....hmm
