Pingu, I think the exhaust hanger rubber can't fix Alan issue. Refer to the photo. the two rear bar like as chopsticks to hole the exhaust pipe in middle. One in upper side, one is lower side. Whatever pipe up and down. it hold in middle.

actually the connecting pipe of the Arqray is exactly the same shape and bend as oem, just the muffler is different.

if you are driving on smooth roads that is fine, imagine going over a nasty bump........

KC- i don't think it will mess the manifold up, but there will be a dent in the exhaust very soon, then he can wrap
some exhaust wrap around that part to stop the rattle against the stiff bar.....

or get a softer exhaust hang rubber, that way it hangs lower.

Alan it is very bad having a rattle in a German car, you have the options, go for it.
Thanks songbill!!!

You are right, it is not acceptable to have a rattle or any abnormal noise in a "German made" car....not German brand but made in Malaysia.
I think I will try the rubber way to resolve it and hope it works because the bars are actually performing.

E60 v E coupe?

Simply put:

STRAIGHT LINE
my E coupe with the mods (270bhp) is faster in a straight line V unmodified 523,525 and 530i, and more robust as same weight but smaller car, better ride.
the drag is like 0.24 v 0.3+? so very quiet.
against modified eg.SB and wider tyres, only from 50kmh+, then the BMW has a better traction and launch

E60 is better fun, telepathic into and out of bends, a very natural mover,
mine cannot beat a E60 modified 523i/525i/530i with shocks and springs and bars
and SB, you could say 10 car lengths behind

but will beat unmod E60 due to the cars low centre of gravity (the roofline is already 12cm lower)
in Sai Kung, but not on TMS, it needs braking into bends which uses up energy.

versus 16inch doughnut wheeled modified E60- easy win, like stamping an ant

there Newbies - you all need the mods!!!!

bill, of course yours is faster on straight line! You have over 70bhp more than me!!!!! ha ha!

Attachment 106654
so it will need a short rubber in the middle and long rubber at the back

Capt..thanks for your suggestions. i will try to find the rubber and get AK install it asap.

I want to clarify something before move ahead.
For the rear bar, the bar is placing "Above" the pipe, so I understand that using a longer rubber will lower the pipe; thus preventing the pipe to touch / hit the bar. This is fine.

However, I found that the middle bar is placing "Below" the pipe, if I use a longer rubber in the middle and lower the pipe (position 1 in the figure), it will squeeze with the bar harder. Did I misunderstand something?
