Well, they replaced the Comfort Access Controll Module and performed some programing changes but discovered the High Battery Drain message and a rest clock again the following morning......back to the dealership
Recieved another CAS control module (they assumed the one they installed in April was faulty) and replaced the battery under warranty. Still having high drain warnings and now disconnecting individual modules to determine what is waking up the car from sleep mode to cause the discharge. The car continued to run and start without failure during this time frame but had numeruous comfort access warnings, odeometer resets and decreased A/C output as the battery began to fail from the continous discharge; over the 5 month period since the first warning. I'm pretty certain they now have their heads around the problem and will eventually find the problem. I will post when it's resolved

I just went in my car, and pressed the start button once and got the yellow triangle and it said high battery drain..I shut the car off and did it again, and the same warning...has anyone else gotten this? can it be due to the after market led license plate lights?? I only had my car for a month and it has 770 miles on it..help please

SA called to adives second CAS unit installed, still pulling errors and waking up every 1/2 hour. Replaced weak battery on warranty, still not sleeping. Started to disconnect individual CAS units to find the offendding device. Found right rear door handle unit not going to sleep. They are plugging in an unpainted replacement unit today and watching the sleep status; if good, they'll paint and install the handle and return my car by the weekend. Quite a challange for their techs but they have jumped on it and I am finally confident it will be resolved.

With so much electronics and gadgets in the 5er, it is always hard to locate the actual cause/source of the problem. Glad the tech was able to isolate the problem. GL and hope you get the ride back this weekend.

I'm with BMW of North America, LLC. I've passed this message on to a BMW NA Customer Relations Representative who will be in touch with you soon.
Perhaps the only way to fix this design defect is with a Class Action suit in Federal Court. See this thread:

My dealer says (on my unmodded 2008) the fault is mine because I don't drive it enough.
