I just went in my car, and pressed the start button once and got the yellow triangle and it said high battery drain..I shut the car off and did it again, and the same warning...has anyone else gotten this? can it be due to the after market led license plate lights?? I only had my car for a month and it has 770 miles on it..help please

I have received this when leaving my V1 connected (I wired it to the fuse block for now) so if I turn off my car I have to turn off the radar. I will hardwire it to a location where it will provide juice at startup and turn it off when the engine is off as well. I was just experamenting.
So do you have any Radar/GPS etc... tied to the fuse block or a location that is always on? Check that.
I have around 600 miles on my car and have not noticed it unless I did like I mentioned above.

I know this is old but I have been getting the message two days in a row now and was wondering if anyone knows a simple way to fix this other than going to the dealer? I was thinking of just disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it but I have an appointment at lunch and would like to avoid it if I can. Is this as simple as a software update? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

My Ride: 08 550 Carbon Sport Almost everything factory, but no sound upgrades.
The problem boils down to an ?Unfavorable Driving Profile.? Look for a BMW Tech Service Write-Up SI B 61 13 05. It discusses this issue.
I bought a Black & Decker ?Float? Charger (BM2 and hard wired it directly to the battery connector and ground. This charger will run $30 or less ? is manufactured by Vector Manufacturing.
Look, e.g., > http://www.tylertool.com/blackanddecker45.html.
I have found this to be quite annoying and at times I want to apply a large decal on the trunk lid that says ?Powered by Black & Decker?.

Unreal, I take my car in to diagnosis the high battery drain and they come back saying that it is the MPM (micro power management) and that it will need to be replaced. They also were going to update the software while replacing it. Then my SA calls me today and says they cannot update the car because the SOS call system is malfunctioning and they need to replace the TCU in order to perform the update. I do not understand why, my sos was working fine three days ago and when I got the high battery drain it stopped. I am now $1500 in the hole because of all this and was really hoping to use that to get the Umntiza M5 front and some other mods?.so this sucks ass.
