hey guys,
I've got an 05 545i smg tranny, and recently when i place the car in 1st or reverse my RPMs shoot up to atleast 5000, and the car jerks very hard and remains jerky until i get moving, when i shift throughout the gears it still grabs about 2-3000 rpm above normal with some hesitation. I skipped out on the stealer, and went to a mechanic that had been treating me well. He is pulling no faults on the computer and is still not sure what the problem is? He thinks the clutch may need replaced and wants to take out the transmission..Any suggestions or experience similar to this? I have 95,000 miles on the car that has otherwise not been abused.
