In Denmark, Norway and Sweden the cleaning system for the headlights is required by the goverment if you have Xenon lights!

Can you take that pic again but with them working? Its gonna need 2 people unless you can set the camera to self operate. I want to see what happens. I'll try and get a pic later.

What are you expecting to see Merv? A miniature BMW tech in overalls come out of the hole brandishing a water pistol

joking aside, i am also intrigued by never seeing it in action

It's required in all countries in Europe as long as you have Xenon (all cars).

So anyone have a pic of them working and an opinion on whether they are any good or not?
Yuo can clearly see them working when you are driving along and it looks like your headlights are flashing on and off and spray flying in the air. They do not usually operate when the lights are not on or it's every third time when the lights are off since you are not using them.

Exactly. At night this "flashing" is easier to discern. however, just yesterday during daytime (but at dusk & lights were on) I was washing windshield and I could see the spray coming over the hood from the lamp cleaning system. Manual says "when lighting system switched on and at regular and appropriate times" and easily three could be the number, but not sure in my case.

At least in Europe the washers come with the Xenon head-lights.

We first noticed these while we were on a road trip. We were at a gas station and my wife was in front of the car doing whatever it was she was doing. I happened to start the window washer while she was looking at the car. She look in amazement as the "BLASTERS" popped out. I have to say they spray the lights at some high pressure. Nifty little things I believe. Anyway, I just see a few people think of this as a negative option. Honestly it is something I think is useful.. Just my $.02

Just make sure your moonroof is closed when you do this (otherwise some may end up inside your car!)
