Recently, whenever I use the Nav function, the system keep complaining about no GPS disc in DVD drive. I tried to eject and insert many times, no luck. Sometimes, when it recognizes the DVD disc, it would hang when I start the guadiance and the iDrive reset.

I took it to dealer 3 days ago, and they gave me a new DVD GPS disc and reprogrammed the car. When I got my car back this evening, problem was still there. GPS disc was not recognized by the Nav program !! I am going back to the dealer to let them fix it again.

I am thinking the DVD drive is dying, not the car software malfunction.

Any suggestion is appreciated.

 

Dealer found the problem today - bad DVD drive. After replacement, so far so good. Will see how long this new drive last ....
