I didn't get a letter but I called and made a appointment for recall repairs on my 2006 550i and took it right in. Here is a list of items replaced

Positive battery cable
Brake booster and seal
Brake master cylinder
Hydraulic hose
Brake fluid
Brake system flush and bleed
and some other things.

Man I love free repairs! Especially ones as expensive as a brake booster and master cylinder.

Got mine taken care of over the weekend at Crevier. They gave me a 2011 328 as a loaner, that car has GOT to be the most ballless car I have driven in a looooong time, made me feel like I could pedal faster. Other than that they took good care of my car and pronounced it in good health when I was done.

I will be taking mine in soon, will most likely take an alignment during the same time since I will be putting on the new tires. I have a sub and an amp installed in the trunk and the power routes around to the battery. I am curious what they will say or do about this. Most dealers seem to make at a minimum a verbal response... The car is out of warranty so I'm sure their comment would only just piss me off!

As fate would have it, I took my car in for a totally unrelated issue, my SA mentioned that they would be performing the recall related repair, and in my mailbox when I got home? You guessed it, the recall notice!

No worries Bro, I also have a sub and amp in the trunk. They didn't say anything to me, they just performed the work and got my car done. I really like Crevier, they see a modded car and all they say is "Nice car", and leave it at that.

My sub and amp was the reason I been stalling to go but since you say its ok and the idea of a loaner car sounds nice , but in nyc they don't play that they probably will laugh in my face if I ask for the loaner
