I am a Canadian military officer currently employed in Belgium. I ordered a 545i black sapphire Canadian spec through the diplomatic program in Nov 04 - fully equipped less active seats. The dealer offered me the spoiler, M-flared side sills and Aux Audio input jack for free. In Nov, he could not offer me the M front bumper with the enlarged air intake because it could not be fitted on a Canadian spec car. Oh well...

The car was built on 25 Nov 04 at 15:22.

Imagine that because of the custom and tax free documentation required, I just received the car today even though it was at the dealer since 15 Jan 05. At least they offer me to upgrade the car's software wihtout charge when the new perspective view nav is available.

The car came with the 639 option - Telephone and BMW Assist prep. According to some docs, it should come with the V60i phone and eject box. Is it right?

Since this is a Model 2005 built in Nov 04, Bluetooth should have been installed; however, the sub-menu Bluetooth in Comms setting is missing. Can anyone help?

Thanks,

639 is the telephone option somtimes known as CPT9000. That uses the v60i or sometimes other variants. In any case it is one OR the other. Either the telephone OR Bluetooth, not both at same time. Check this site for lots and lots of info on Bluetooth use and probably not near so much on CPT9000 use. I think both camps are happy with what they got.

I am a bluetooth user, but in the US so you'll want some of the European folks to chime in.

And welcome, CANADIAN

You know your fellow countrymen (and women?) set up a whole sub forum here at E60.net the best info for your E60 (and my E63) available

Folks,

According to this attached bulletin, I should have received a V60i phone with the Option 639. Is this bulletin no longer apply and the phone discontinued?

I have read all the threads on BT and about phones in this excellent site and I have not found any confirmation as to what individuals have received with the Option 639.

There is no Bluetooth option available in CAN/US as I believe it is now built-in in all 2005 US/CAN spec E60; however, I still have not found the Bluetooth menu.

Welcome Canadian!

If your car ia a Canadian Spec car, BT software needs to be activated by the dealer. This can be done when the software is updated.

Enjoy your new ride!!
