Hi all,

I've been an avid user of the Google Maps function, where you can send destinations to your car's navigation system. This function suddenly stopped working for me -- I'll send a destination from Google Maps to my car, I'll get an indication that the destination was successfully sent...but then my car won't pick up the message from Google Maps.

Any ideas as to why this might be happening?

Thanks in advance.

not many people have this functionality here, probably coz most (if not all) of the cars here are pre-2010
i wish i could help, but the firs time i heard about this functionality was yesterday when i had an x6 test drive

There was a problem about 2 months ago on the Google side of things. It was not available from Google Maps during part of that period of time.

It should be working now but I haven´t used it recently. I will send to my car and see.

Thanks, Jonathan. Look forward to what you're able to find out.

Just used it and had no problem. My car received the message perfectly.

Thanks, Jonathan. I'll do some more troubleshooting to try to figure out why my car isn't picking up the message. I'm not clear as to how these messages are relayed to my car (i.e., cellular network or satellite). My car is typically parked in a garage with poor cellular coverage or in a basement garage, so I wonder whether the message is being sent, but not received, and the message isn't cached anywhere for future delivery.
