Ghosts In The Machine?

GT, I'm here to confirm that you are not suffering from auditory hallucinations.
My 550 sport makes the same noises that yours does, but it sounds like a symphony instead of an expensive repair bill.

I can figure out that much for myself! This isn't my first car with all sorts of electronic gadgets. But it is the first one that makes all kinds of body noises on its own. BMW really takes it seriously when they call it a "Machine!" With all those noises, I wonder if it won't convert into a Battle Mech and post sentry in front of my house! How cool would that be?!
On a side note, it has a nice, authoritative rumble in the garage when I start it up. Not as nice or authoritative as my '05 Mustang GT (which was, along with another car, traded for this), but still nice. Can't really hear the exhaust outside.

Aside from the usual motor noises and clicks we have all heard before, I heard one the other night I've never heard prior. There was a hissing or whirrring (like a motor or fan that wouldn't turn off) coming from the rear right wheel area. I tracked the noise down to only that one side, and it lasted for a constant 3-4 minutes. And then all of the sudden there was a pop, like steam blowing its cork, and then the sound was gone....
It wasn't a hole in my tire, so I'm not quite sure what that was.
