Freakish Stereo Problem
#1
Hey guys,
Hope y'all have had an awesome summer. I definitely did and my E60 was a big part of it! Unfortunately she seem's to have taken a bit ill from all the fun in the sun
Quick background:
Tailgating a few weeks ago and used the car stereo to play some music for a hour or two while parked.
Problem:
Now my stereo cuts out ever couple minutes when listening to FM stations. It however does not cut out when listening to CDs. (?)
I thought it might be my amp but since it only happens with FM stations I'm really kind of lost.
Does anyone have any idea what could be at the root of this?

My radio does this while listening to certain channels on the satellite radio...... We have a Chrysler Aspen with the same subscription that has no problems at all with satellite. The BMW will just lose reception and actually display "acquiring" on the monitor; only on certain channels. Had Sirious resend the start up signal, etc. but no improvement; very annoying...

Thanks for all the advice, I finally got it fixed and just wanted to update the thread with the results incase anyone else has the same issue.
Basically the dealer just performed a complete update and encoding for my vehicle software and that resolved the issue. Also the new software is pretty sweet... lots of updates visual and functional. My voice recognition even works better now.
All in all that set me back $301.40
They couldn't give me any clear idea of why it happened in the first place, but it seems to be perfect now so I'm not complaining.
Anyway thanks again. Just wanted contribute a little to a forum that's provided me so many answers already.
