Glad to be in a familiar community: Although I am without a 5er at this time, I am considering another e39 (have had 2 so far). Kinda like the newest F10 generation, but doesn't have the purity of the e39, plus they are still pricey...

My Fiver garage over the years:
1. e12- 1981 528i/4speed - Anthracite/Black leather - One of the most enjoyable cars I have ever owned (shock tower rust and all)!

2. e28 - 1983 528e/5speed - Silver/Red leather - Another wonderful car - over 240K before it found a new home.

3. e34 - 1989 535i/5-speed - Silver/Black leather - Solid performance and loved the looks, but the interior components poorly made, door panels are notorious...

4 e39 - 1998 528i/Auto - Aspen silver/Black leather - Really great car, upgraded the stereo (much needed) and added 540i 16" turbine wheels. Car saved my life when I was T-boned at 70 MPH, jaws of life cut me out.

5. e39 - 2002 530i/Auto - Sterling Gray/Sand - The best by far. Great color combo! 234K before I let her go.
Of course regrets... but thinking about a Sport next, and another color as well!
