Question about doing a one year service on 550. Only have 5500 miles. Wondering what you experts tell your service advisor to do, look for and replace at first service? My dealer likes to push back unless its covered, telling me these cars take care of themselves; problem is he doesn't know how I manhandle a 550 with 6 speed manual transmission and I believe I will have this car until 2011 so want to keep it up.

I presume need to get oil replaced, but what else needs to be checked, what should I manually review (tread wear, brakes, oil,etc)? Your advice is appreciated. I did a search and didn't find anything comprehensive from previous posts. Thanks.

well I change oil & oil filter every 7000 to 8000km and I clean air filter every 6 months my is K&N air filter. I have not change my spark plugs yet. Change you micro filter every years too.
check coolent every 6 months. change any rubber in the car like doors, sunroof so on.

I assume you know the oil change is on BMW with 12 months of service and low miles.

I got it done on mine in December. I normally do an extra oil change at about 7500 miles between the BMW services, but let it stretch to 9,000 since it would be free. My mine concern was just getting the oil change done. Plus I had them to check the brakes. Wouldn't be bad to also ask that they look for leaks/loose parts while the car is on the hoist.
