Thanks... The more I live with comfort access, the more I find it a waste of money. I spend more time searching for the key when it is time to get out and lock the car. It is always somewhere different, except in the steering column where it belongs. I refuse to put it there, just because I spent a 1000 bucks so I would not need to.

Agreed, one of the few options I didn't get. I actually enjoy putting the key in the slot.

i spent 2 hours turning a light switch on and off the other day, only to realise the bulb had gone

You could verify power to the bulb by inserting your finger in the socket and have another person flip the switch. Stand in a puddle of water I think that way you will know a split second sooner.

Exact same thing happened to me over the weekend. Dead chip in the key. Covered under warranty - I asked.

Mine would unlock the car just fine though using the remote buttons.

No remote on this key. Just RFID for fob start.

ABC

I understand that , but it would have at least have let him start the car and drive away instead of waiting for the key to be delivered.

p.s. the bmw wallet comes with a compartment custom made for this grey key.

So whos the dumbbell now? HAHAHHA J/K

Ya its a rechargable key but doesnt mean the battery cant die. but from teh sounds of it. I think he might have broke it when he dropped the dumbbells on it. Loosened the RF chip thats in it.

LOL...good one!
