I agree, and it is sad that so many stones have been cast and so many names have been called. The thread does say something about what is interesting and important to many. I think that we can and will do better.

Maybe software can take care of the issue. I used to post on the Apple Support forum, and the Apple's software did spell checking and wouldn't let a post go through with cursing, etc. But, it would let faked cursing go through. Still the message was clear; Apple did not want cursing.

How about we reset the stage and assume this race was done under a controlled and safe environment, taking away any criticisms about safety..etc.. I'd still be interested in knowing more details to see if it was a fluke that the 545 lost or is the G35 really that closely matched to the BMW's performance. Afterall....I, and I suspect a majority of people on this board, bought a BMW for it's performance aspects just as much, if not more, than for it's luxurious characteristics.

How about it Guessvvhoo? Any additional info? I think you said it was the G35 sedan right?

Good idea. Here is the first page from a Dragtimes.com comparo of 545i's and all G35's (all coupes I think). I am darned sure that anything doing better than 13.7 is modded. Some of the values are taken from the mags. It looks to me like races between the two cars should be close, but that the 545i would win more times than not. Note that the 14.1 time for the 545i is bogus for a manual.

It's funny. At least 1/2 the posters on this thread think that street racing is childish, which it is. It's for 25 year-olds with Mustang GTs. But, when we say it's "childish," then we get "flamed," even though we don't technically get called idiots or morons. It's the classic example of American liberalism: "I love free speech, just as long as you're saying what I want you to say." I don't need my posts "edited" by someone who thinks I want to say what he'd like me to say.

Let's move to another thread.

Go a head and move on. Some of us are staying. The issue is that one, including you, can say what is on his or her mind with out being insulting, flaming others, or being sarcastic. Look back at your posts on this thread if you don't believe these techniques are yours. I haven't looked back on the matter I am going to mention. But, I don't recall you getting flamed.

Oh, God, Znod. Relax. Race your damn car. Just be sure to get an umbrella policy. Oh, gosh. Was that too sarcastic? Did I make anyone go: "wah, wah?" Did I spell anything wrong?

Ok, ok. I lay down my arms. I concur that it was too sarcastic. But, it sort of made me giggle.

And, speaking of annoying things: Should you be able to start a thread with the word FUCKING, in caps?
