Yeah. That's why I've kept it. It still looks new even.

But it looks so friendly...
Thanks for the advice. I have used all OEM stuff except for one battery and some slotted rotors. One of the failures caused several. The oil filter housing distortion leaked oil all over the alternator about 6 months after I had replaced it and ruined the replacement. It also ruined the newish belt. The first belt broke when the idler locked up and wrapped around stuff and ruined the engine. Always something...

Hi E60 can you tell me who you sent the neighbors VB to for rebuilding having problem finding a source. I understand you don't live in the US but if the place you used did a good job who cares where they are. Thanks

In my experience the problems have always been related to the valve body and solenoids.

I would first check that the car has the correct fluid level in the transmission. There are many posts to show you how to do this.

I suggest this because in my car when i bought it, it was very low on fluid. I filled it and removed the fault code and was able to drive the car working properly if i drove it like my wife does.
But if i put my foot into it, it would click back to safety mode again. I would then remove the fault code and drive like my wife again

please check your fluid, remove the codes and see what happens
if still faulty then the next step will be your valve body, solenoids, filter and fluid.

I'm not aware of an electric pump in these transmissions

Hello Seanjordan20,

E60Japaese refereed me to you can you give me the name of a valve body repair businesses I have not been able to locate one that has experience with E60 in my area of Michigan I ask E60Japaese but he felt you could recommend better than he. I want to remove the valve body and send it to be reconditioned tested and returned

Default Zf transmission

Hi, I have a 2005 bmw 525i. It had transmission fault codes that would go away after I turned off the car. When turned on again they would come on and finally went into safe mode.I decided to change the the transmission oil, all the rubber tubes and solenoids from the valve body. I reset the adaptation for the transmission. It was not out of safe mode. I reset the adaptation again. It was working great now shifting perfectly. The next morning I went to turn it on and there was no crank, no start. Thought about the battery, checked it and was able to replace it for a new one. I was able to pull some fault codes from Inpa.

Cd99 incorrect,receiver dme,transmitter

d358 no communication with instrument cluster control unit

a3aa no message from transmission control unit, receiver

can you advise, I’m not sure where to start

Check your mechatronic connector. Look like you didn't turn it all the way on

Thanks for the input. I did check it and it was not completely locked in. Now it is. The fault message came back while driving about a mile.
i cleared the transmission error code. Now it’s driving and shifting with no messages. Thanks for the help.
