Forgot to mention: both my front fog lamps have water condensation inside them. Any way that can be fixed or is it something which can be replaced under warranty?

Whilst (so far) the creaks and squeaks have not made an appearance in my car yet, the two things which have gone wrong are:

1. Active headlamps - stopped moving after 10k kms and stuck in the straight-ahead (default) position.

A visit to Millennium Rama 4 only resulted in them saying they had no spare parts and they would order and fit under warranty.

2. Active steering functioned inconsistently after 12k kms. Sometimes the power steering worked when the engine was turned on, then the next time I turned the key, no power steering and the Active Steering warning light activated. After a day and a half of this behaviour I went to the dealer.

Found to be a fault with electronics (relay problem??). Repaired and since then no further issues - touch wood. However without the power steering it sure was a heave to drive around!
Yeah Ziggy,
Yu can bring your car to any Dealer to get your FOG Lamps changed under warranty as if it were broken then no way you had to buy but if it's just water and weather inside then yeah for SURE, better try at German Autos at SRINAKARIN and they will replace for you right away (if parts are available)

Active Headlamps also the same, Should be replaced under warranty, You better go there and ask for Khun Sarawuth and tell him about your problem, he will help you for sure (he's the Service Supervisor and a good freind of mine, just give him my refernace and he'll do his best, tell him you are Sam's freind),

Well, after all these, don't forget to post your Ride's pics, It would be good to see your ride, Nyways what about the RPM, How much did they quoted you for the M Sports and Rear M5 Bumper and QUADS, the Chinese guy there (Owner) is a good freind of mine and i have special discount on all these for me n my freinds so ask him the price and best discount and lastly tell him that u r a freind of mine and will get the best deal, Anything more, let me know,

CHEERS !

Many thanks Sam for your recommendations. Will let you know how I get on. I haven't asked for a quote on the stuff from RPM yet, but when I get back from travelling I will be going down there. Once all is done I will post the pics. Cheers!

Its much cheaper to order from quad_m aka Tony. If you're looking for body kits. As for the fog lamps, condensation will disappear once you turn on the fog lights for a few minutes. Dealer will not replace it under warranty, unless its cracked or something without being in an accident.

No, I don't think so as if you buy it from TONY then what about our local import taxes and custom duties and the clearing agent's charges, when you add all these costs in the real cost then it will cost you more then what you can easily find locally from RPM or other shop with warranty, so i prefer to buy it locally but about the wheels then yeah, we can buy it from TONY and it's cheaper from him and after all the taxes it's still workable but just for the few models available on sale from Tony,

dear Sam,

there should not be any problem if the item shown as "Sample product or Gift" on the commercial invoice
for the customs. I even send to Canada some parts and at the customer request I showed them $200 or $300 for the whole Mtech packages that are humongous boxes and they will go through with a very little
amount of tax paid.( Canada has a very tough customs system)

let me know guys if there is anything you need to know

best regards,

Tony.

ps: Also, you can call UPS in your country and ask them what are the levels of customs duties for $200 to $1000 they will tell you the applicable tariff for amounts shown/presented at the time of import.

thank you

yes it is cheaper and faster and I can ship it directly to your body shop which will save you time and
money. I dont know why Sam is really concern about the customs but its not a big deal.

(UPS is a private carrier they have their own clearance agents and customs brokerage for screening)
as soon as the items shown properly on the paperwork its fine trust me
probably, electronic stuff will take attention and possible charges when imported.
as a matter fact I will call Ups from here for you guys and find out whats really involved in it..

thanks again,

Tony

Hi Tony,
I didn't mean that you are selling high prices or sth else but what i concern most is the Import taxes as i imports body parts from other places like CHINA and KOREA for TOYOTA and some other brands and we have to pay some taxes even on those and now you are sending these HUGE BOXES and the decalred amount is as low as 200 $ 300 $, Believe me bro, Nobody is gonna trust this as in THAILAND even a small kid of primary School knows that BMW is a very expensive car and it's parts are just even think about and once you send these Jumbo boxes declared as low as just the same price of TOYOTA COROLLA's bumper then i don't think they are gonna turn the blind eye on this and once if they just check the price with the BMW THAILAND, BOOOOOM !!!! that's what i consider and u can re-check tht i told ziggy that yeah your prices are cheaper as we go with the wheels tht these are still cheaper even we pay off some lil taxes on those,

Hope you understand Bro

Tony,

I think its best if you call UPS in Thailand and see about the procedure. Obviously everything varies country to country. As you understand shipping and have experience in that part, its best if you talk to them for us because we dono what to ask them. Please find out exactly if we need to pay import tax on sample products or gifts, if so how much depending on the stated value, etc. Please let us know.

Sam,

I think that when you ship your parts for your cars from other countries, you guys do it according to the law perfectly, so you have to pay import taxes, why don't you try next time when your business partner ship car parts from China or Korea; tell them to put the product as sample or gift or used, see if you still have to pay import tax. I think its very possible about what Tony said, delivery companies are not allowed to open up your boxes anyways, they are only suppose to ship it and deliver, so no one will know whats in the boxes exactly, plus they dono if its for BMW or Toyota. All in all, if we don't try, we'll never know. If possible I'll take the first stab at it and see what happens.
