Dear E60 drivers in Thailand,

Just want to check whether any of your E60 cars from your country experience:

1. Whistling wind noise from windscreen area.

2. A rattling noise from backseat or shelf area at the back when going over bumpy roads.

3. Creaking noise maybe from doors also when going over uneven roads.

Many Thanks

Hi,

I'm from KL in country south of Thailand. Own a new E60 5-series assembled in Thailand. Have the 3 problems mentioned above and want to see whether you guys have the same problems also.

Just want to know what has been done to rectify the problems there. BMW Service in Malaysia is not so good. Car is still under warranty, so want to find out more before I send my car in.

Many Thanks

Regarding the creaks and squeaks, so far I have not noticed them, but perhaps it is because my car is assembled in Indonesia

Just put on 19" rims with Conti tyres. Can notice a big difference (for the better) already just trundling back through the traffic from RPM. Looking forward to having a blast on the expressway.

Oh and got the black grill trim too.

ziggy, congrats on the wheels. What type of wheels did you get? Pics? Which RPM did you go to? The thong lor 13 one or Ramkhamhaeng one?

As for the creaks and squeaks, they will come soon enough, even if the car is assembled in Indonesia, its only 90% completed over there, the rest of the 10 is in Thailand. The 10 percent would be all the inside trims etc., so I don't think you're safe from all the noise its gonna make, but lets keep our fingers crossed on this one. As for warranty and service, there's nothing the dealer can do about it, they'll just end up tearing your car apart, re-inforce some parts, and it'll be quiet for maximum a month, then you'll hear all the creaks and squeaks again, its better to just live with it than have the dealers take apart your car.

Here's a pic. Nothing exciting I'm afraid. Stuck the Conti Sport Contact 2s on - 245/40ZR19 and 275/35ZR19. Didn't want to alter any suspension etc yet as am happy with ride and don't want anything too firm due to back problem. Next I think will go for quad exhaust and upgrade front and rear and maybe skirts. Quite like the standard M Sport aero lot but may bite the bullet and go for the fancy stuff. Tempted already, but I don't like anything too overtly 'loud' but prefer the 'Q-car' concept. Any suggestions?

Z
