You know the owner? Get him to open the shop a bit longer. Also, we might want to reserve the place since almost 10 or more of us would be there.
Good to have the Plan B.

Thanks tcc.....
I sent my car in yesterday and it only took half a day to get it sorted.
They claim that we are 'reading' it wrongly. And I can accept this. His explaination: With the dipstick, what you see is what you get (as in oil level). As for the electrical systems, it has a pressure sensor in the engine block to measure the amount of pressure exerted. The higher the pressure, the less oil there is.... something like that.... There was no leak and they even changed my engine oil for me, so until next time....
But your partner's problem seems quite bad...... good luck to him......

Greg,
I checked with my partner this morning.
Accordingly to PML, they've changed the piston rings for his engine. I suspect there are more to it because how can it take 3 weeks just to bring in the piston rings, right?
You know what, the leak seems to be still there. after 2000km, my partner just informed me that the oil level is almost like before??????

My Ride: E39 525i, E60 530i, F10
My ride's air-con recently started to emit a high-low pitch whining noise apparently from the centre duct. It was soft but became louder recently.
Sent the car back to agent to trouble shoot recent. They claim that they could not find duplicate the problem because the noise mysteriously
disappeared when it's in the agent's premises.
I tried to duplicate the problem and observed the following:
1. Pitch of noise is not related to the fan speed. That means the noise may not come from the air-con fan speed.
2. When the air-con temperature was set to very low or very high, this whine disappears.
3. Able to duplicate the high/low whine noise when I set the air-con to some specific temperature. This temperature setting seems to be between cooling/heating and it changes depending on the temperature of the internal cabin and external temperature.
Does anyone have any idea what component in my ride needs to be serviced?
