Most of the time when I am on an expressway, I would put my car on cruise control while I relax to the tune of my favourite number. This could be from Changi to Jurong and when I turn into urban traffic with lots of start and go later, the throttle seemed to be less obedient - its like you have to step harder to get the car moving or before it would change into a lower gear.

Anybody else have this experience?
I have a similar problem but I think it mostly happens when my engine is still cold. When I leave to work in the morning I have to turn onto a busy road when I get out of the garage. Because cars are driving really fast on it, I want to take off as fast as possible (without over revving the engine since it is still warming up) and most of the time this is when I feel it the most, I really have to press my gas pedal really hard/deep before my car responds. I also notice this behavior in normal driving from time to time so I guess it is just inconsistent and really annoying because you do not know what to expect (do I have to press the pedal hard or not)?

Definitely not! I had a 2002 330Cic before this one, that also had drive by wire and never ever experienced this!

Hi Ed,

nope gots no BMW flashlight in my car either. I believe this is an option that is not spec-ed in our Singapore versions of the E60. The E46 I had previously also didn't have this, though it's mentioned in the owner's manual.

Some countries (eg. US) have this as standard, but don't have other things we do, eg. breakdown triangle in the boot etc. Similarly the power outlets, US E60s have these, but seems like Euro and our versions only have the front ash tray one as standard.

eggz, cannot expect too much. In Singapore, the active steering is a standard option but not in Europe and US.

I am not so high-end lah. Yes, I love kois, but I love cars more

With all the electronic nightmares discussed here, is the E60 still a good car to drive? It might be better idea to wait till year end for the car to stabilise and wait for valvetronic in 2.2 before signing on the dotted line

No flashlight in the glovebox too!

But I pried open the little piece of black plastic cover where the flashlight is supposed to be charged (see pic) the socket (2 pins that could actually plug straight into the flashlight I suppose) complete with wiring is there!

I suppose we just need a very simple part to add this feature in. I shall ask the parts dept to see the exploded view of the fixtures when I next visit.

Can't imagine they just want to save on this one!!!!! <_<
