Leslie,
Pls count me in if you manage to find something nice and similar to RSLK's budget. I like your last sentence because we seems to have many things in common, except besides 3 noisy ones, I still have to take care of 30 quiet ones swimming around...hehehe.

ECLIPSE XA5000 5CH POWER AMPLIFIER (Your amplifier runs cool at high power using ICEPower technology from B&O)
DLS Reference W710 (10" Subwoofer)
Diamond Audio S600S HEX component speakers
Optional stuffs for higher performance:
ALPINE PXA-H701 + RUX-C701 (multimedia DSP for superb soundstaging in car acoustic tuning)
Eclipse XA4000 4CH POWER AMPLIFER +
Eclipse DA7232 2 Channel 2000W Subwoofer Amplifer: Use this powerful amplifer to power a twin of these DLS M112 12" Subwoofers
The above can be purchased off the internet between S$3K to S$5K, including shipping.
We will need to include the installation charges. Some very good installers charge as much as S$5K for their installation and tuning efforts.

Zig, your config is a little too steep for me leh. My budget is like tcc39; around $2K.
LMK, thanks for the config advice. Ah Boa did mention the same thing but he is suggesting lower end makes. I will seek your opinion when Ah Boa comes back with proposal.

yes, considering. But not to replace the E60.
the E60 will be eventually be replaced by....hopefully....a 2 door ride with some convincing work to do.
335i or the new 535i (if there is one with twin turbo).
as i will be making a trip to SFO (do not know when? but definitely this year) i might be able to check out in the BMW assembly plant with some friend's help with arrangements to do a test drive on their test track.
Till then i will decide which to buy.

DLS Reference W710 (10" Subwoofer) - approx S$350
Diamond Audio S600S HEX component speakers - approx S$500
All of the above are prices estimated from eBay, including shipping. Much less than S$2K.
Let's talk to Ah Boa and work out a reasonable installation cost.
