BZSAB, sorry I couldn't make it last night as I had some problems to solve with UK. How is your TV reception? Any disturbance from the TV volume?

i'm too lazy to encode my own dvds
but i tried it before.
you can also just decrypt the dvd into vob files.. and dump in into the tvix. it will play like the dvd with dvd menus. only thing is that takes up like 4G per dvd.. haha.
i also use dr. divx.. which is a user friendly divx encoder. paid for that. I think they stopped that product.
the tvix will come with all the cables u need for it.

BZSAB, sorry I couldn't make it last night as I had some problems to solve with UK. How is your TV reception? Any disturbance from the TV volume?
I was able to receive only TV Mobile but not the other 3 stations (CNN, Ch 5, Ch 8)! I was told by installer that this is due to the lower grade Tuner I got and the signal output from Media Corp. Installer mentioned of higher grade Tuner costing approx $500. Nonetheless, TV Mobile signal is pretty clear and without video interferences. This morning, I tried turning off the Tuner (via remote control) while engine is on and found that the Tuner cannot be re-booted while the engine is still on. The Tuner can only be re-started when the car engine is re-started. As for sound quality, the volume is quite low and needs to be cranked up to almost full. Additionally, like what Ed Lee says, there is a whining sound (like aeroplane) especially during acceleration. The installer is confident that this can be solved. Again, it is due to the quality of the Tuner.
Now the bigger issue! Installers found a flaw with the Video Interface (this Interface is a newer version of what LMK has and supposed to be better). Apparently, the VI Video Outputs cannot simply play music; it needs to first detect the presense of Video before allow Audio to pass through (dont know if this makes sense but it is what the installer tells me). I need to seek advice from the manufacturer. To overcome this defficiency, I enabled my iPod to output Photos to the VI. This fools the VI which then allows Audio to be channeled through. Now, I am viewing all my photo libraries via iPod slide show everytime audio from iPod is required.
I must add that the installer is extremely helpful and professional. They will be back next Monday to fix the whining sound from the Tuner and to see if they can solve my iPod - VI issue.
