Just read the germancarfans page today.? There's 450 M5s allocated to the UK and all have been snapped up.? Don't understand why we here in Singapore are allocated only 3 units.? Wonder how many M6s we're gonna get; 2 maybe?

Also, can anybody correctly interpret which of the AMG is the direct competitor of the M6?? My thought is the SL55, but the people at Merc said the CLS 55 is the one.

the merc people can say anything they want...but not one of these cars will come close in a track. cept the SLR...which is more a mclaren than a merc.

Yeah strange, maybe they feel that it's the M6 cab that should compete with the SL55.

Problem with Merc is you can't completely turn off their traction/stability electronics.....

I think car allocation is probaby to do with market size and how many of the previous model of that car they sold here.

But sometimes it's actually easier to get the car here than UK, where the waiting list can be years! My uncle who lives in London recently bought a Cayenne Turbo, the waiting list in the UK was 1 year. So he got a friend here who knows the folks at Stuttgart to get him one allocated for Singapore, but to take delivery in Germany and just drive it back to London, sort of like a reverse parallel import , this way, he got the car in 1 month.

Yeah, best joke was the CL65, with all that power and torque, it lost to a bunch of guys in a tug-of-war on Top Gear!

Though I heard the whole Far East Asia was allocated 5 only for the first batch and sg itself got 3 of them.
I read somewhere AMG CLS supposed to be the "coupe" and it was an answer to the M6.

Well, then its turned out to be a big joke hasn't it? However, at SGD 468K, its a really cheap alternative.

I got an estimated price for the M6 from someone at PML and its was above the CLS. Hopefully the confirmed price will be somewhat closer.

Also, just heard that PML is selling off the 645 w/out navi @ SGD 310K. Really a bargain if you don't mind that its gonna be outdated by Sep 05.

Wah, Genting!!! I think its the safest place to drive to in Malaysia; so long as you park your ride at the hotel carpark and not wander down to the other eating spots.

Actually its quite a good idea. Details please.....

As you know, everybody's bracing themselves for the intro of the 550 and 650. May not be here till Jan 2006 though.

As far as Genting is concerned, anything goes for me.

Russo, you there?
